The Future of Sound
BOXCAR
AI & Music in the Age of Creativity
Join us for an eye-opening lecture exploring the evolving relationship between AI and music, where technology amplifies creativity rather than replaces it. From AI-generated compositions to real-time collaboration between artists and algorithms, we’ll dive into the latest innovations shaping the industry.
With platforms like Suno, Udio, and Google’s MusicLM making waves, AI is no longer just a tool but a creative partner, redefining how music is composed, produced, and distributed. Recent headlines highlight AI-generated tracks going viral, sparking debates over authorship, artistry, and ethics. How do we ensure a bright, ethical future where AI empowers musicians rather than exploits them?
Expect insights, and a discussion on the balance between innovation and integrity in this thrilling new era of sound. Whether you're a musician, producer, or AI enthusiast, this lecture will challenge your perception of what's possible in music.
Don’t miss this deep dive into the rhythm of AI!
Thanks to Kerry Young at Boxcar. Eric Renz-Whitmore for continuing to support these lecture series and to the City of Santa Fe Office of Economic Development, Hutton Broadcasting, and Daniel Quat Photography for their support.

AI IN FILM: FOMO OR FUBAR?
Join us for a thought-provoking AI Salon exploring the role of artificial intelligence in the film industry. Are filmmakers and studios experiencing FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) as they rush to integrate AI, or are they facing FUBAR (F@%&ed Up Beyond All Recognition) consequences in the process? This session will dive into AI-driven special effects, storyboarding, Pre-viz and even AI-assisted scriptwriting, questioning whether these innovations are enhancing creativity or disrupting the cinematic art form. We’ll also touch on ethical concerns and the future of AI’s role in storytelling. Don't miss this engaging debate on where AI and cinema intersect. This is a great lead-in to the Santa Fe International Film Festival that starts the next day. Guests and panelists to be announced.

Virtual Human Exploration: Nuance & Emotion • Vocal Expression • Facial Movements – Sentiment - Hyper-Realistic Synthesis of Prose
Can we as humans create emotional bonds with virtual or synthetic beings? That is a good question that we cannot answer, at least we have not experienced it quite yet. We have experienced it through movies such as “Her” and “Blade Runner.”

AI & the Design of Randomness: Unlocking the Inner Jackson Pollock
Moderator; Curt Doty, RealmIQ
Our first thought was to call this panel, “AI: Inside the Black Box of the Imagination.” Artificial Intelligence, together with Machine Learning have opened the door to a relationship with a “Human Creator,” someone we might call an “Artist,” and the result is an exploration of the imagination that has never been seen before.

The AI Start-Up Dream Team: Strategies for Success
The AI Start-Up Dream Team: Strategies for Success: Unique Founders, PhDs, Genius Advisors, Venture Board
Moderator: Curt Doty, RealmIQ
What are the difference makers. Where are the forks in the road, the decisive decisions taken by the ultimate winners and the 80% of start-ups who drift off and ultimately fade away. Facebook was not the first, but was by far the greatest of the Social Networks to enter the fray. Since all serious start-ups have brilliant and determined founders, wise and experienced advisors and investors, what separates that one shooting star from the group? Sometimes changing the world begins at a corner store serving a niche market in the community, like being a quality bookstore in a mall of Superstores or a seaside shack serving an upscale boating community and the opportunity reveals itself. But often, targeting a narrow domain, an underserved market, a foundational technology serving a unique need will provide the pathway to success.
