The Future of Sound

AI & Music in the Age of Creativity

Join us for an eye-opening lecture exploring the evolving relationship between AI and music, where technology amplifies creativity rather than replaces it. From AI-generated compositions to real-time collaboration between artists and algorithms, we’ll dive into the latest innovations shaping the industry with live demos and our guest speaker Brooks Williams.

Brooks is a composer and artist whose artworks are informed by his background with synthesizers and computers. He creates visual art using the computer much like an audio synthesizer, that is, to process visual samples he has collected through the lens of his camera.

Before moving to Santa Fe in 2019, Brooks worked in his New York studio, Harmonic Ranch, where he created, edited, mixed, and designed music and audio for film, dance, television, art projects, and performances. He taught computer music and production at NYU and School of the Visual Arts. He has worked with a diverse group of artists and organizations such as Pauline Oliveros, John Cage, Christian Marclay, Shelly Hirsch, Zeena Parkins, Ikue Mori, Jem Cohen, LaMonte Young, Wooster Group, Dia Foundation, MOMA, New Museum, and many others.

Don’t miss this deep dive into the rhythm of AI!

Thanks to Kerry Young at Boxcar. Eric Renz-Whitmore for continuing to support these lecture series and to the City of Santa Fe Office of Economic Development, Hutton Broadcasting, and Daniel Quat Photography for their support.

What an interesting, and educational show last night. I am very glad you, and others have started this project, very needed in our time of misinformation and teen self hatred. I See AI serving as a platform for Learning Skills of Self Appreciation for each of us as individuals. Project learning is a big step in that direction.
